The Gideons find it as their mission to place the Word of God in the hands of as many people as possible. Our church is blessed to have several Gideons in our ranks. The pastor is not the only one responsible for the work of the ministry; rather, we are all the priesthood of all believers. All of us are called to share the gospel and serve as a minister in the context that we are placed. Let us answer the call to serve the kingdom of God!

Questions for Reflection

1) Who do you know could use an encounter with Jesus?

2) How can you share your faith with that individual?

3) What ministry can you partner with outside of Beaver Creek?

4) In what ways can you support the ministry of Beaver Creek in the coming months?

Upcoming Service

This Sunday, Pastor Ryan will continue the study on the Foundations of the Holy Spirit series with the sermon titled, “Spirit in Us” based on 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:18-20, and Romans 8:11, 22-27. Why does it matter that the Spirit dwells in us? How should the Holy Spirit impact our living? Come by or tune in on Sunday to find out!

Call for Worship Leaders and Children’s Story

We are in need of both worship leaders and children’s storytellers. Contact Alice Over, Phyllis Simmons (worship leading), or Joscelin Cooper (children’s story) if you want to serve.

Children’s Church WILL meet this Sunday, May 5.

Children’s Church will take the summer months off (June, July, August).

The mother-daughter banquet will take place Saturday, May 11 at 5 pm, sponsored by Men’s Fellowship. So far, only two households have signed up for the banquet. Please sign up by this Sunday, May 5, or call the church office to have your name placed on the list. The men need to know by Sunday approximately how many people will be attending for accurate food acquisition.

Vacation Bible School will run on Wednesday evenings during the month of July (July 10, July 17, July 24, and July 31). If you would like to help or assist in any way, such as running a station, being a group leader for kids, preparing food, etc., please sign up on the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex or respond to this email. So far, we have had only a few names sign up. We need several other volunteers. Please consider volunteering for this great outreach today!

Baptism Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, May 19.

For those who are interested in transferring membership, you only need to attend the classes on Sunday, May 12, and Sunday, May 19. Also, please email Pastor Ryan the name of your previous church so we can mail out the request for transfer of membership.

If you are graduating this year or know of a graduate, please call the office. We are aware of one graduate. We are in the process of planning graduate recognition Sunday.

The Christian Education Team is looking for six to eight volunteers for the nursery during the Sunday School and church hours. There will be a signup sheet in the back. If you would be willing to volunteer to allow our families to participate in worship, please inform one of the members of the Christian Education team (Theresa Eckard, Scott McAvoy, Becky Whitmore), or sign up on the signup sheet!
