Committees are encouraged to begin looking into budget construction for October’s council meeting. Consideration of current giving shortfall should be part of budget discussion.

Facilities: Roger Simmons reported on an insurance meeting with a representative on premium.  There was a recommendation that the church increase the deductible from $1000 to $5000, (they are also waiting on final figures for a higher deductible as well) this would decrease premiums by $324. Additional liability coverage would be added to the insurance. Roger suggested that the money for deductible if unavailable in budget be taken from capital improvements first followed by Building fund. An alternative was mentioned about possibly setting aside money to cover deductible.

Facilities follow-up: Parsonage driveway paving has been completed, parsonage is going to need new shingles. Been 20 years since roof was shingled and currently losing shingles when it is windy.

Pastor’s Report:  September 4th is first day of new Sunday school and will be back to regular time. Annual Conference focus bumped for another Sunday. Gifts and Calling doing their work and asking for ideas from teams in moving forward for members of their teams. VBS combined with Montezuma and was a positive experience. Wedding first weekend of September. Will have some transfers of membership when baptisms are held.
