1. Pave driveway up to the parsonage – $8450
2. Install hand railing on the upper entrance into the basement – $906
3. Install acoustic boards in basement similar to the ones at the Mt. Crawford Ruritan Hall – $2260

The total cost of these three projects is $11,616. Bill proposed, on behalf of the Facilities Team, transferring money from the Building Fund to the Capital Improvement Fund and placing the resolution on the agenda for the February Council Meeting. Darlene seconded the motion and the motion passed. The congregation will be informed of the proposed resolution prior to the February 7 Council Meeting.

Fellowship: Deanne shared that the Fellowship Team may schedule a movie night in the next quarter. The team may ask Montezuma COB to join with Beaver Creek at the All-Church Retreat in September. Due to the vacant position on their team, the fellowship time on Sunday mornings may be reduced to once a month which may boost attendance. The Lenten Vespers will be scheduled on Saturdays so as not to interfere with the Truth Bible Study which is meeting on Friday evenings.

Finance: Charles reported that the Finance Team is requesting time at next month’s LT meeting to give a report on the interactions they have had with Dan Martin in regards to the church financial review. The Finance Team will be presenting a quarterly graph showing the churches expenses vs. income. A sample graph was shown of the last three years expenses vs. income to the Leadership Team.

Old Business: Due to the impending snow storm, the free-will luncheon this Sunday is cancelled. The luncheon may be postponed until February 7 prior to Council Meeting if the Sunday School sponsoring the luncheon is agreeable. A resolution will be presented to the congregation at the Council meeting about Beaver Creek’s ownership of the Spring Creek Town Hall. The resolution is as follows:

The congregation of Beaver Creek COB hereby approves of the conveyance of any and all of the church’s interest in that certain parcel of real estate located in the Spring Creek community, Ashby District, Rockingham County, Virginia, and known as the Spring Creek Hall property, by “quit claim” deed to the trustees of Spring Creek Hall Association. The congregation further authorizes the Trustees of Beaver Creek Cob to execute a deed and such other documents as may be necessary or appropriate to effect such conveyance.

Bill Eckard made a motion to place resolution on the agenda and Ann Healy seconded the motion and the motion passed.

The Leadership Team discussed several different ideas for Homecoming 2016. In light of the year 2017 being the 100 year anniversary of the church building, Ann made a motion to defer homecoming to next year combined with a special anniversary celebration and use the money budgeted this year toward next year’s event. Bill Eckard seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Pastor’s Report: Glenn reported that John Jantzi is back in the district office after a leave of absence. Glenn gave an update on Randy Cosner’s condition after his accident earlier in the day. Glenn shared that the deacons had discussed the declining numbers in attendance.

The Leadership Team shared ideas on what we can do as a body of believers to boost attendance. Those ideas are prayer, youth programs, evangelism, utilizing the media, block party, having Christ-like interactions with others, and an Easter Egg Hunt inviting friends of the Beaver Creek kids. Members received several of our church brochures to share with others in the community.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm.

The next Leadership Team Meeting is February 18, 2016 at 7:00 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
Dana Suter, Church Clerk
