First of all, a special thank you to Alice, Bill, John, Lynne, Joe, and Tess for your flexibility with my COVID experience this week. You are all amazing!

Second, because COVID is still in the house, I will have irregular office hours and will have to move some things around. Please be patient with me; I hope to be back to a “normal” routine w/ visitations as soon as I can.–Pastor Ryan

A special thank you to Alice Over for bringing forth the Word on Sunday! Alice did an excellent job in the pinch for a COVID-infected pastor!

Here are the main points:

1) Jesus is the full embodiment of the Good Samaritan. In the same manner, the Good Samaritan took care of the man who fell into the hands of robbers, so too he takes care of us. He sees us, picks us up, binds our wounds, and brings us to a place of spiritual safety. Then, he looks out for us!

2) Are we a safe inn? Is our church a healing presence for anyone who is able to come in? Can anyone, despite their struggles, come to know Jesus through the environment we keep? A church brought a young woman with deep struggles to Jesus and was instrumental in transforming her life–we can do the same at Beaver Creek!

3) Are we a safe innkeeper? Are we willing to share the healing of Jesus everywhere we go? Can we stop and see the need around us, even if it means getting dirty?

Questions for Reflection

1) Are our eyes open to the needs of people?

2) Is Beaver Creek an environment where everyone can feel safe and find the healing of Jesus?

3) How has Jesus brought healing into your life?

4) Who can you help bring healing to?

Upcoming Service

This Sunday, Pastor Ryan will continue the series called “A Fresh Start” with the sermon titled, “Come Alive,” based on Ezekiel 37:1-14. How can we be rejuvenated, especially when we feel spiritually dead? And what role does the Spirit play? Come or tune in Sunday to find out!

Camp Staff Blessing

Katie has been chosen to serve as junior staff this year at Brethren Woods. She will be serving the final two weeks of June. One way we could bless her as a counselor is to provide some snacks for her to share with her fellow counselors when she is there. There will be a box in the narthex beginning Sunday you can place your goodies for camp in, if you would like to donate.  Here are some items you can donate (her personal likes):

–Goldfish crackers

–Fruit cups

–Cheese it crackers (snack package size)

–pretzels (snack package size)

–chips (snack size) variety of flavors

–doritos (snack size)

–takis (snack size)

Father/Son Breakfast

Women’s Fellowship will be providing a special breakfast for all fathers and sons on Saturday, June 18 at 8 am in the fellowship hall. Please sign up in the narthex or by contacting the church office to make sure we add your name to the list!

Summer Vespers

We will have summer vespers the final Sunday of each month for June, July, and August. We will gather for meal over the fire, sing some hymns and camp song favorites, play a camp-style game or two, and conclude with a vespers devotional. Come out and enjoy!

Call for Worship Leaders and Children’s Story

As we look at the ability to reopen in the coming weeks, we are in need of both worship leaders and children’s stories. We are looking for one person each week, rather than a month at a time. If you would like to serve, contact Alice Over (worship leading) or Tammy Stine (children’s story).

Call to Prayer

Let us continue to pray for our nation in the following ways:

1) National return to God

2) Repentance of personal sin

3) Repentance of corporate sin

4) Healing for the brokenness of relationships

5) Our leaders

6) Revival

7) Guidance for our congregation in the days ahead
