Leadership Team Meeting
June 18, 2015
Present: Evy Kaye Sandin, Bill Wood, Candy Hulvey, Sean Dunn, Bill Eckard, Jeanette Hess, Theresa Eckard, Charles Wright. Ex-officio: Glenn Bollinger – Pastor, Donna Miller – Treasurer, Dana Suter – Church Clerk, Zander Willoughby – Summer Intern. Absent: Jane Cyzick, Deborah Hoover. Evy Kaye called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.
Charles led the group in devotions and a prayer.
The minutes from last month’s meeting and the Treasurer’s report were approved.
Focus Team Reports:
Christian Ed. & Discipleship: No report.
Congregational Connection: No report.
Facilities: Bill Eckard reported the Facilities Team had 2 pews being repaired, some minor damage to the parsonage roof was fixed, trees on the south side of the church were trimmed, and the holes in the ceiling of the basement have been repaired. Glenn reported that the door at the end of the ramp will not lock and the trash has not been collected for the past couple of weeks. Donna Miller has tried to contact the trash collector and will continue to follow up.
Fellowship: Glenn reported that the movie night last Sunday evening was well attended. The Fellowship Team is planning another movie night in July.
Finance: Charles asked the Leadership Team to vote on last month’s request that was tabled until a quorum was present. The Finance Team had requested that the budget line item External Audit be changed to Financial Resource Fund. The motion passed. Charles reported that the teller system is an evolving process and they are still training prospective tellers. Glenn asked about a direct deposit option for those members that were interested. The Finance Team will bring that question to the table when they meet with the financial consultant.
Outreach and Missions: Jeanette Hess reported that the First Sunday Offering in July will go to the Global Food Crisis Fund. A sign-up sheet has been placed in the vestibule for volunteers to man the kettle at the Dayton Farmer’s Market on July 11 to benefit the Salvation Army. Bob and Jeanette Hess have placed a recycling bin in the basement for plastic containers.
Ministry: Glenn reported that Zander will need a gas card for travel expenses. Bill Eckard made a motion to purchase a Visa gas card and Jeanette seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Worship: Candy Hulvey reported that the Worship Team is working on pulpit supply for July when Glenn will be away on vacation. They are continuing to look for potential funding options for a portable stage.
Deacon’s Report: Donna Miller reported that a Bread and Cup Communion will be held July 5.
Pastor’s Report: Glenn reported that several Jr. High Youth and their advisors, Theresa and Brad Eckard, will be leaving tomorrow for a National Jr. High Youth Conference in Pennsylvania. Glenn, Zander, and David Miller met this week to plan for the combined All-Church Retreat with Montezuma COB. The joint worship will be held at the lake and the meal will consist of a fish fry. Glenn proposed that loose offerings that Sunday go to the Nigeria crisis and members may designate their respective church receive their offering if they are so inclined. Jeanette made a motion to accept the proposal and Charles seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Unfinished Business: A meeting is scheduled for June 30 at 7:00 pm to discuss the results of the LT/Focus Teams Assessments and the Congregational Assessments.
Facilities Needs/Visions: On Sunday, Sept. 13, discussions will be held at the beginning of Sunday School to gather ideas that members may have on the needs of the church building and grounds. Undesignated Memorial Gifts: Evy Kaye reported that the Treasurer’s Report has undesignated memorial gifts on two different lines. The church polity states that these funds be transferred to the general fund. Charles made a motion to move the funds and Sean seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Glenn led the group in a prayer.
